Colette Dekker Child, Parent & Family Consultant

Colette Dekker

Hi, my name is Colette and I am originally from South Africa where I obtained my degrees in Psychology and Criminology as well as High Performance Gymnastics before we immigrated to this wonderful country in 2006.

I have worked as a counsellor as well as a gymnastics coach for as long as I can remember. My life journey took me to the Middle East for 5 years where I truly realised the importance for children to move!

I am good friends with Marga Grey’s daughter and it is through conversation with her that I was introduced to CoordiKids. On my return to the Gold Coast in December 2017 I decided that I need to do something to satisfy my passion for movement and counselling – what better way than to get involved with child development with the bonus of helping parents?

Marga motivated me to use my knowledge and passion in the best way possible and that is working as a CoordiKids provider. The concept of CoordiKids is absolutely unique as it bridges the gap between OT consultations and it is flexible and designed so it can be done anywhere, anytime (even when on holidays).

It also provides for quality family time – something very precious in the rat-race we life in today. CoordiKids are for everyone! I have a Special Olympics Gymnastics Team that I coach and I use the program with them with great success.

My practice is mobile and I service the Gold Coast from Logan to Tweed Heads.

Rini Hanekom

Hi, my name is Rini. I am a Mom of two, from Somerset West, South Africa. I have always had a keen interest in Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) as my son was born 8 weeks prematurely and has shown signs of SPD.

I came across CoordiKids when my eldest needed to start pre-school. Like most moms I was worried that he wouldn’t be ready or make new friends. It has been the best decision I have made for my kids so far. I can attest that both my kids have shown improvement at school.

Both of their teachers have been amazed at how they have changed, and how well they are handling different kind of situations, best of all both have made friends! I wanted to join the CoordiKids family to be able to support other parents and to help children with similar difficulties.

I offer a mobile service and offer group and individual classes at schools from Strand, Somerset West to Stellenbosch. I am available to see your children in the comfort of your own home in the Helderberg area.

I am excited to meet anyone interested in CoordiKids to contact me with any questions or for more information! Looking forward to meet you and your child and to assist you on your journey.
